I am a licensed clinical psychologist and consider myself a cognitive-behavioral therapist who strongly values evidence-based practice, attention to context and culture, and the significance of the therapeutic relationship. Adopting a biopsychosocial approach to case conceptualization, I consider contextual, sociocultural, and systemic influences on clients’ well-being and presenting concerns. When working with children, I carefully consider the role of the family environment in maintaining and reinforcing behaviors, and I value parents’ active involvement in treatment. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and developmentally tailored. Though I primarily draw on cognitive and behavioral techniques, I also incorporate interpersonal therapy in my practice. For example, I often turn to relational processes within the therapeutic relationship to facilitate clients’ insight about their interpersonal pattern. I have worked with a range of clinical populations, including children, adolescents, and adults; people living with HIV; people affected by traumatic stress; individuals and families. I have also worked across a range of clinical settings, including outpatient mental health, specialty mental health clinics, pediatric primary care, pediatric hospital settings, school-based clinics, and telehealth- and outreach-based settings.
